Riff Festival Bal Mela

In response to the invitation by ‘Jodhpur RIFF’ Sanskarians from class I to V participated in the folk festival organised by Jodhpur Riff at a very attractive place ‘Veer Durga Das Memorial Park’, at Masuriya Hill, the heart of Jodhpur. The objective of this ‘Bal Mela’ was to familiarize the children with the vanishing art and folk culture of our state. The main attractions of this event were ‘Gher dance, puppet dance, Rajasthani circus and Behrupia and tehratali dance. These performances were not only entertaining for children but also made them aware about the rich heritage of our culture.
The children got an opportunity to visit this memorial park which stand as a symbol of valour and bravery of ‘Veer Durga Das. The children enjoyed the city view from high hill and were astonished to witness the rich folk culture with various dance and music. They were also amused to see the classical music instruments.
The children were escorted by teachers and PRO of the school. Principal Dr. Prabha Sharma explained the children, the importance of cultural heritage of the country and motivated them to appreciate the beauty of various art, culture and performances of folk artists and the rich heritage of the country to which we belong.
